Somerset , NJ, Sept 19, 2007 - Openstream Inc (www.openstream.com), a leading provider of multimodal information management solutions for the enterprise, today announced that Shumate Mechanical (www.shumatemech.com) has selected Openstream's Mobile Force Automation (MoFA) as its field-force and sales-force automation solution platform.

Serving the Atlanta, GA area, Shumate Mechanical provides a full range of residential, commercial and industrial HVAC system service, replacement and installation services. Shumate has over 250,000 existing HVAC systems installed.

Shumate will deploy MoFA based ruggedized handhelds to its field service and installation crews. Using the handheld, field service personnel will get detailed information regarding service calls, customer equipment and service history, and will be able to generate a digital work order in the field. Customers can receive a printed or email copy of the work order, which will be transmitted in real time to the home office via WAN connection. The handheld devices will also provide PoS functionality, allowing the field personnel to process credit cards and checks in real-time. The solution is slated to be released in production in the March '08 timeframe.

Shumate will also deploy MoFA based tablets to its sales force. The platform will provide calendar, CRM, and other proposal creation functionality on the tablet, making the sales force immediately productive in the field - narrowing the window for customer service and deal closures.
