IBM Retail Integration Framework (formerly called Store Integration Framework) provides the architecture and technology tools to link a retailer's point-of-sale systems with wireless devices such as handheld computers, kiosks, tablet computers, smart shopping carts and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). Using RIF, retailers can be more responsive to business opportunities and customer demands by making use of specialized applications and industry-specific services.
